Bought the Paris Rough Guide 2003 edition, when we visited Paris back in 2003 and it was very good. Recommended some excellent restaurants and the detailed area guides became very useful.
So, when we booked Paris for our wedding anniversary we thought we’d give it a try again. I think the latest version available (11th edition) was even better than the 2003 guide. Very useful and detailed maps with some really interesting places to go and see (The various Passages around Paris such as the Passage De Panoramas).
If you are planning a trip to Paris it is simple really, buy The Rough Guide to Paris!

I’m a great fan of Rough Guides and have my own mini collection so didn’t hesitate before buying this for a recent visit to Paris. The information is very good but a lot of prices were already out of date, including metro ticket prices and entrances to a lot of the museums. I do not understand why a new edition cannot be brought out every year when all of this information can be easily downloaded and the edition updated. Other than that a great guide with good maps and easy to use.

This was my first visit to Paris since a primary school trip some 15 years ago, so thought i’d better get a guide book. The layout of the book was excellent and easy to use. There were plenty of helpful pointers for things to do, and more importantly for me, where to eat. A great help in insuring I was able to make the most of my short visit. Tres bien

This book contains a lot of fascinating information on virtually every aspect of visiting Paris. Great layout, great tips and the metro map at the back of the book was invaluable when we visited on one of Paris’ busiest tourist days (Valentine’s Day!) when the Metro was extremely busy with lots of people crowding round the maps on the wall!
